General and specialized psychiatry

The psychiatry makes part of neuroscience which is currently undergoing dynamic development. Although two high-quality textbooks are available now, there have been some changes in the practical outputs of our discipline. The objective of these seminar notes from psychiatry course is to follow these changes, and to provide you with up-to-date information which is necessary to acquire the basic knowledge. These materials will be updated on a regular basis. These notes do not replace recommended textbooks, they should give you a quick overview of the basic topics in psychiatry. They are supposed to be used in your preparation for psychiatry courses and should be helpful during the revision of the explained matter.

The presentations have been published in order to facilitate the understanding of key topics in psychiatry and to promote the discussion during seminars. We have thus ranked among the first clinicians who are using the latest ICT development to apply it in the education.

You can download the presentations by simply clicking the left mouse button on presentation title.

If you have already attended our seminars, you have certainly noted that the texts published on these webpages do not contain video presentations of patients with the respective diagnoses. This is not possible from the ethical point of view. The students are acquainted with the clinical picture of the presented materials during internships and seminars in general and specialized psychiatry.

The team of authors believes that the notes published on these webpages will facilitate your preparation both for the course and the examination, and possibly will incite your deeper interest in psychiatric diagnoses and treatment.
